Scoil Uí Riada has a strong tradition in a wide range of sports between after school classes and also through extra-curricular activities. Teachers prepare the teams in each competition with training before school or during lunchtime. As a school we are lucky to have such knowledgeable teachers with an interest in a wide range of sports.

We enjoy a strong relationship with local sporting clubs in Kilcock GAA, Kilcock Celtic FC, St. Coca’s Athletic Club who allow us to use their facilities throughout the year. We are extremely lucky to have the use of such top class facilities. Our local GPO does GAA activities with all classes throughout the year agus also a rugby coach works with our 5^th and 6^th classes.

In recent years we have taken part in GAA, soccer and rugby blitzes along with other schools in the local area which the students have really enjoyed showcasing their skills. GAA before school is also run throughout the year on the new astro. It is always great to see so many children out enjoying GAA before school.

Scoil Uí Riada offers a number of after school classes that cover a range of different sports. These afternoon classes include Gaelic football, Hurling, Soccer and basketball. You can view the classes below and select a class to book.

Foireann scoile

The school competes in the following competitions each year. Cumann na mBunscol – football, hurling, camogie, athletics and basketball, FAI Kildare Primary 11 a-side Soccer competition and FAI 5 a-side.

Lá spóirt

Our school sports day is held each year in May / June where the children have a great day showcasing their sporting skills and also working as part of a team. The children really look forward to the sports day each year.
